Highland Park and Flame Towers

Highland Park, also called observation area is considered one of the most beautiful sites in Baku. The name is not accidental – the whole Baku, including Maiden Tower, Deniz Mall, Flame Towers, Carpet museum, Crystal Hall and more, are seen from the Highland Park – the panorama is charming!
According to a survey by skyscrapercity.com Flame Towers lighting was voted the best in the world. The towers themselves are completely covered with LED screens that display the movement of fire, visible from the farthest points of the city. The name "Flame Towers" and shapeof gigantic torches are possibly a reference to the coat of arms of Baku, which depicts three flames.

The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center was designed in 2007 by architect Zaha Hadid and is considered one of the symbols of modern Baku.
It is a complex building, includes a museum, permanent and temporary exhibition halls, an auditorium, administrative offices.. the building is considered a masterpiece of the Postmodernist architectural style, its shape reminiscent of Heydar Aliyev's unique signature, who is national leader of Azerbaijan . While designing the building, Hadid was using her proprietary Cutting Edge Design with no straight lines attached
As a result, it was recognized as the best building in the world in 2014, was awarded the "Design of the Year" prize established by the London Design Museum. We must say the award is one of the most authoritative and coveted awards in the field of architecture.

Carpet Museum on Boulevard

One of the famous museums of Azerbaijan owing to the art and history of the country. It was built in the form of a folded carpet.
Carpet weaving has been one of the earliest forms of art in Azerbaijan, it's a national heritage to our country. Therefore, the museum was formed with the prime purpose of preserving and demonstrating the incredible examples of Azerbaijani carpets.
The museum not only stores the unique samples of various carpet items but also hosts apropriate exhibitions, symposiums, and conferences to spread awareness about the art of weaving.

Mini Venice on Boulevard

Mini Venice is asmall site located on Seaside Boulevard, and is literrally the most romantic place in the city. It was built back in 1960 by the city's then-leading mayor Alish Limberansky, who probably got inspired by his trip to genuine Venice in Italy.
The redevelopment of this site recently saw the expansion of the existing channels, two reastaraunts and more overhead bridges. One of the restaurants offers tradional orient-styles cuise, while the other is aimed for European guests. And, for sure, you can loan a Gandolla-style boat and enjoy a ride around the site.

The unique building is of particular importance among projects carried out in order to popularize Azerbaijani culture as long as the to preserve national values. It is located on Seaside boulevard as well.
The center was established to promote the Azerbaijani mugham, declared by UNESCO as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of mankind, in the world.
Here young students learn the refinements of the mugham art, an important branch of the Azerbaijani music culture. Concerts of eminent mugham performers, international conferences and festivals have been organized in the Center

Baku bay promenade, aka Seaside boulevard


The Baku Bay embankment, or as Bakuvians call it, Seaside Boulevard, is one of the most beautiful parks in the city, which reveals its unique elegance after sunset. Now it is a real promenade with a total length of 20 km, but 100 years ago, when the first stones were laid for its creation, it was located from Hajinsky's house to Azneft Square, and was only 300m long.
Main attractions: Government House, Marine Station, Dyaniz Mall shopping center, yacht marina, Ferris wheel, National Flag Square, various museums, other cultural centers. Also nearby are numerous mansions, formerly the residences of oil magnates and patrons, fountain square, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Four Seasons Hotel, the Funicular, play areas for teenagers and family centers.
Governor's Park
The park was renovated in the 1970s and then further renovated beginning in 2007, lovely summer fountain designed by the Inter Art French company has been added. After the restoration, the garden became known as the Philharmonic Park
